Home Again is a series of drawings that explores the strange mix of comfort and unease felt growing up in the suburbs. In these drawings I include the hidden motifs that are often littered across the sidewalks of the suburban landscape: trash, cigarette butts, bits of plastic, the things we’re taught to ignore.
These shunned objects might seem commonplace, but tell a bigger story about what suburbia tries to hide: excess, vices, and the tangled mess beneath the polished surface. By drawing them closely and with care, I bring attention to the overlooked details that are often dismissed, showing that even the discarded pieces of suburbia have a story to tell about consumption, neglect, and the things we’re too quick to forget.
